Everyday Romance - Romantic Story: Reflected Romance

"My husband and I have been married for 22 years. We still have lots of great times together, but lately we have been bickering much more than usual, probably due to the long hours we have both been working. It's been particularly bad when we're doing chores - all we seem to do is nitpick and nag, until we're both cranky and out-of-sorts. Then of course we are less than loving to one another for the rest of the day.

One day we decided it was time to clean the windows. He'd do the outside and I would do the inside. That way we could point out streaks or missed spots to one another. As we cleaned, I gradually became aware that he was mirroring my every move: as I swiped one spot, so he did, in perfect unison.

I was annoyed at first ... until I saw the twinkle in his eye. I started doing complicated patterns and trying to outsmart him... and I began making faces too to see if he'd mirror that too. He did - at least he tried to! Within no time I was laughing. Things even got a bit naughty (discreetly naughty!)! We ended the chores with me pressing my lips against the glass, and him doing the same. We decided to leave our kiss mark there, as a momento of our day."
