" For as long as I've known my husband, he's enjoyed doing corny and unexpected things. For example, one year I mentioned in passing that I loved M&M candies. As a birthday present, he gave me 10 pounds of the stuff in a huge glass vase with a flower sticking out. To this day, the sight of M&Ms makes me queasy.
This year, I was planning to make a statement in my garden - I wanted to plant a big, showy mass of red geraniums, my favorite flower. I lovingly sowed the seeds indoors and nurtured the little seedlings until it was time to move them outside into my garden.
Several weeks later, I was thrilled to see buds appear. It may sound silly, but I was really excited to see the red flowers brighten up my little garden space.
One sunny afternoon, I glanced at the garden when I got home from work... and then I stopped, puzzled. It didn't look the same. So I wandered over to take a closer look... and found out that my husband had replanted my new geraniums, arranging them into the shape of a giant heart! He had also moved some of the green plants to make Cupid's arrow. I just had to start laughing. That's my husband, the hopeless romantic!"
