Many of us have heard those romantic stories about being whisked away for
a surprise romantic getaway. Candlelit dinners, an outdoor hot tub beneath
the stars, a picnic atop a mountain during sunset, or a horse-drawn carriage
ride snuggled together under a blanket... we all have different ideas about
what makes a perfect romantic getaway.
The larger hotels & resorts are wonderful for couples who want
to enjoy luxurious amenities, proximity to activities and attractions, and
even a concierge who can provide assistance in planning a special romantic
getaway. Many luxury hotels & resorts have Romance Packages already
available, packages that have been carefully put together to provide some

Smaller accommodations are may also willing to put together that
special romantic getaway package for you. Bed & Breakfast Inns,
for example, can offer more intimate surroundings and may be able
to provide more personalized service due to their smaller size. Some

Or if seclusion is your thing, head to the truly tiny accommodations
- privately-owned cottages, cabins, and vacation homes tucked in
its own romantic setting. Lakefront, oceanfront, mountain views, or
hidden in a forest, there are plenty of choices for couples who
want to simply be together with as few distractions as possible. Your
romantic getaway could include a campfire by the beach, a quiet paddle
around the lake, or watching the sunrise over the mountains each morning.
Some romantic hotels and lodging are what's known as "couples-only"
accommodations. They're adult-oriented specifically for romantic getaways.
Children are not permitted, allowing couples maximum quiet for those
memorable romantic moments.
